Breakfast scones

Ingredients

2 cups flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 tbs baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
¾ cup cold butter
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp cinnamon

Method

Combine flours, brown sugar, baking powder and baking soda, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.


Stir in buttermilk until a soft dough forms. On a floured surface knead 10-12 time or until no longer sticky.

Divide dough in ½ pat each ½ into 8 inch circle ½ in. thick. cut each into 8 wedges, separate wedges and place onto an ungreased baking sheet.
