Abbey Crunch Biscuits

Servings : 36 low-guilt or 24 cookie sized greedy biscuits 
Difficulty : Easy 

As mentioned on BBC Radio 4s food program of a sadly lost biscuit. Just wanting to rescue the recipe as closely as possible.
Okay .. a seriously LOVELY biscuit, scores 10/10 from two of my kids.

Abbey Crunch Biscuits

Ingredients

5oz Butter or Marg
5oz Sugar
1 tablespoon Milk
1 teaspoon Bicarb of Soda
2 teaspoon Golden Syrup
5oz Self-Raising Flour
4oz Rolled Oats

Method

1. Cream butter and sugar
2. Mix in milk, soda and syrup
3. Stir in flour and oats and mix well
4. Roll into small balls and put on greased baking tray
5. Cook for 25 mins on 150C/300F/gas 2 till golden
6. Cool on wire rack
