An old recipe that uses natural ingredients, and one the kids often give the thumbs up.
Juice of 7 oranges
Juice of 1 lemon
6 oz. of sugar
4 oz. of cornflour
Water to bring the fruit juice to 1
quart of liquid.
Bring 1-1/2 pints of fruit juice and water mixture to the boil, with the sugar.
Mix the cornflour with the remaining cold liquid, and when the hot liquid is simmering, add in the cornflour mix. Stir continuosly.
Stir well over the heat for 5 to 8
Whip the eggs and stir them carefully into the mixture so as not to curdle them.
Pour the mixturel into a wetted mould, let it get cold, turn it out, and serve.
Continual stirring is the key to being lump free with cornflour.
